challenge

Boston Pizza's human resources team faced two main challenges: attracting talent to fill a large number of positions and streamlining the job posting process across its network.

Solution

To address the first challenge, we designed and developed a modern website to attract talent for a variety of roles. The second part of our solution was a web application for Boston Pizza's HR team and franchisees. This portal would make it much faster and easier to post a new job, while removing the inconsistencies that plagued the company for years.

Our Approach

01.
Project Planning

We worked closely with Boston Pizza's HR team to build detailed project requirements and create user stories. Based on that discovery process, we recommended the most appropriate technology stack and mapped out the solution and infrastructure architecture.

02.
Design

Our creative process included UX and UI design for the website and portal. In both cases we prioritized usability, which was important for jobseekers and those managing things behind the scenes. Designing the website brought the added challenge of helping BP stand out and connect with users on an emotional level.

03.
Website Implementation

We developed the website in HTML5 and CSS3, incorporating video, animations and more to deliver an engaging experience that adapts to all resolutions. Users can drill down to their desired opportunities through an integrated Google map. A robust CMS lets admin manage website content in English and French.

04.
Portal Implementation

Built by a dedicated development team, the web application lets store owners pick from job posting templates, publish an opportunity for their location and review applications. SharePoint integration provides a single-sign-on experience. BP admin can use the portal to on-board users, create new templates and more.

05.
Support and Maintenance

Since launch we have been providing ongoing support of the website and portal. Work includes enhancements, infrastructure maintenance, bug resolution, security monitoring, monthly backups and more.
